LONDON — Shares in drugmakers rose as much as 5 per cent on Monday, as the global pandemics eased concerns about a global financial crisis.
Pharmaceutical stocks in the U.S. rose as well as U.K. stocks.
Shares of drugmaker AstraZeneca rose 3 per cent to $20.94.
U.S.-listed AstraMed raised $10.2 billion, or 6.7 per cent, to $11.75 billion, according to Thomson Reuters data.
The British-listed Pfizer Corp. rose 4.6 per cent in New York, to a record $10 billion, after reporting a record quarterly profit.
